Project Scope and Description:

Bay Village is a senior living space in Florida, USA. The residential apartment operates a retirement community managed by a non-profit governing body. With home healthcare, rehabilitation center, and Poole nursing center, the compound has many indoor and outdoor activity places for seniors supported by assisted living.

The structure is old as it was constructed in 1975. So, as part of their improvement program for the next 20 years, the governing body wanted to evaluate the structure from the engineering and architectural point of view.

What was required from eLogicTech?

Based on the evaluation report, the community decided to re-design and make necessary construction/modification/renovation with respect to the roofs, doors, windows, plumbing systems, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and more. eLogicTech helped them with the as-built to BIM model so that they can visualize the entire build area in 3D and make the required MEP design changes.

The as-built PDF drawings from the years 1975, 1998, 2002, 2009, and 2014 were shared with the eLogicTech team. The deliverable was a Revit model of the entire project within a maximum of 60 days.

It wasn’t easy considering the missing information in the drawings

The architectural and the structural drawings received had many differences. From an organization like Bay Village, it was not expected to have version entries of constructions over the years.

However, making use of past experience, the eLogicTech team developed the Revit model by referring to Google views of the areas of renovation (based on the year logs). The as-built BIM model delivered to the client also included the model of the exterior as well as the interior architecture.
